I was a child that did ride one of the buses. We lived in VA for a few years. At one time my stepdad a beat up my mother and we left on foot. Someone lent us an old store to stay in and Dr Falwell's church had our lights turned on and we never received a bill the three months we stayed there, they brought us food and clothing. The bus picked up me and my two sisters, I was amazed when we got to the church at the size and I was alittle frightened. I don't remember going back to the church but just that once, but it is something I have never forgotten. The Lord seen fit to send us to AL and He sent other people into our lives to show us the way and today I am very active in my church where I teach children's church. I am very thankful for the compassion Dr Falwell had on our family and the other families in that area. What a Blessing!

I never really listened to Dr Falwell but I always admired the way he supported DC Talk early on as I'm sure many high up in the Baptist denomination came after him about it.

You can see why he had such an impact on the world, he had a heart for kids
