Yesterday I showed you one of the posters I found in the teacher’s lounge at Converse Elementary School. Here is the poster that was right beside it. It reads, “What should we expect with experience?” and lists several expectations.
Here’s your homework assignment. Are you ready? Grab a post-it note out of your desk and jot down 10 things you should expect from your experience in children’s ministry. If you’ve been doing this for more than a year, you should know some stuff simply from experience. You might know as much as the guy across the street who’s been at it for a decade, but you should be learning.
You’ll never be successful in ministry until you allow your experiences to teach you. The old saying is true, “Those who ignore history are destined to repeat it.” That’s the way I see it.
